$400,000 URGENTLY NEEDED FOR PNG

2.30 pm in the Big Tent – Miracles, and extreme mission reports from our biggest evangelistic and baptisms campaign ever! Hear first hand experiences of stories and mission reports from our biggest evangelistic and baptisms campaign ever! Plan to be there 2:30 pm today in the Big Tent. But the success means we need to also raise $400,000 to care for them all. How much can you help?

THE GIFT OF TONGUES EXERCISED TODAY

On a recent trip to PNG, Pr Terry found himself living a real life miracle. Speaking to a large crowd of about 7,300 people, the Holy Spirit was his translator! The Holy Spirit translated the words Pr Terry was preaching in English to their native language. For the entire sermon, they all understood him even though they don’t speak English!!!

PR TERRY JOHNSON FINDS HIS HEAVEN

In the Big Tent last night Pr Terry, the serving AUC president, shared how he found his Heaven. It became apparent when preaching in Papua New Guinea. A crowd of 7300 were gathered and had been hanging off his every word. When he finished preaching one hour and five minutes later they said “IT WAS TOO SHORT, PASTOR JOHNSON!”

Pr Terry said he wishes South Queensland was like PNG, who loves LONGGGGGG sermons!

THE NEWS BUG

The cute little News Bug, and it really is little, is going to be rolling around Big Camp. If you see The News Bug rolling around, come and say Hi. It will be driven by Pr Ben Turner, who is collecting articles and stories for the Canvas Chronicles. He would love to talk with you about your experience at Big Camp, why you came and what’s the best part about it. Also, if you have a story you would love everyone to know about, Pr Ben would love to share it here.

The News Bug has a strong connection to Big Camps of old, that many may not know about. The New Bug is owned by Mr Phil Ward, the one, the only, the One Eyed Editor, who produced the Camp News for many years. Phil Ward generously offered to loan this vehicle as a tool in gathering conversations and news, and it is greatly appreciated. Thank-you one eyed editor.

PRAYER TENT IS BACK AND SETUP

God is only a prayer away, no matter where you are. However we have a beautifully decorated prayer tent available to make your time spent with God extra special. This space is dedicated solely to prayer, and is located in the tent right beside the Radio Shack, between Bae-anna caravan and the Pie Shop. There is also special prayer sanctuaries in the Big Tent with prayer request cards that will be prayed over.

Please send the amazing answers to prayer to [email protected] or SMS 0414642504 so they can be included in this publication. We would love to celebrate with you.

ATSIM HAVE MOVED OUT OF THE EXPO HALL

If you look for ATSIM weaving workshops at the EXPO hall they are still happening, but not in the EXPO Hall this year. ATSIM have now moved into a new Big Camp home. They have a smaller Big Tent, between the Basket Ball Courts and the Primary Shed. As well as weaving they also have haircuts this year.

Big Camp Radio

The FM Radio for Big Camp is up. You can listen in to Dr Percy Harold on 90.7 fm around the camp grounds. You will recognise him as the same voice you can hear discussing the Sabbath School Lessons from the official Sabbath School app. The technicians are working on getting the internet working to broadcast video to this app as well, so that will come later. However you can still watch the Big Tent live on this app by following the link on the Big Tent page.

No ADRA shop this year

Sadly ADRA OP-Shop had to cancel this year. We know it was a favourite meeting spot on the Camp Ground, with bonding time over trying on new outfits at camp, but it was unavoidable this year, hopefully it will be back in 2025.

BUT THIS YEAR WE HAVE ADRA MENS HAIRCUTS INSTEAD!!! And he’s a high quality barber.

Parking on Sabbath

Main Gates closed at 8 am on Sabbath…. The police will be closing the front gates of the camp ground and the only access will be from Hughes Rd East from 8am. The police will also be blocking the main gates and guiding traffic away from the main gate.

The local council however have said they will dispatch parking inspectors to fine guests parking on the grass of both Old Gympie Road and Hughes Rd East for the duration of the day. The only available parking will be the ovals at Northpine School at the end of Hughes Rd. Directions will be provided and buggies will be present to ferry people to their destinations.

See the graphic below for areas where parking is not allowed.

4330 Registered for Big Camp

Pr Townend announced that so far there were 4330 registered for Big Camp. However the driver of the news bug noted that only 1,189 had downloaded the Big Camp SQ App as of 9:30 last night. He was wondering to himself what is the most friendly way to ask those who haven’t downloaded it to do so.

The Ordination of Harley Southwell

Harley Southwell will be ordained this Sabbath in the Big Tent at 2 PM. Harley currently serves as the minister at Emerald church and Longreach group. He previously served at Logan Reserve and Beaudesert churches. He is married to Eliza, and has two boys, Montgomery (2 years) and Lincoln (2 months). Please join us for this special ceremony celebrating and acknowledging Harley and his family in their ministry.
