Important Information

A note concerning parking

Please note that there are two car park areas (Southern and Northern). The Northern car park is accessed by turning right immediately after entering the gates and driving along the fence line to the far end of the property. A guard Is stationed at the entrance to this carpark. The Southern carpark Is to the left and right of the entry road to reception.

At registration, campers will be given a coloured Parking Permit that is to be always displayed in your vehicle.  You will be directed to the car park (Southern or Northern) closest to your accommodation and the permit will allow you to park in the campers' section of the assigned car park.  Cars without parking permits will only be allowed to park in the visitors’ section of the car park.  All vehicles, including caravans’, tow vehicles must be parked in the designated car parks, in order to comply with fire regulations.

To assist us in ensuring that our convention grounds are as safe as possible for pedestrians to move around to the various meeting places and activity sites, we ask for your co-operation to ensure that once you have unloaded your vehicle at your accommodation site, your vehicle is then removed from the camping grounds to the designated car parking areas, you have requested or been assigned.

No unauthorized vehicles will be allowed in to park permanently or drive regularly in the tent and caravan areas.

Please do not park in areas that are clearly signposted as NO PARKING AREAS.  We reserve the right to remove any vehicles that are parked in such areas.

Security in both parking areas will be maintained 24 hours a day. Courtesy buggies operate to assist you moving to and from the parking area and around the grounds.

Once camp commences at sunset on the first Friday, and until sunset on the second Saturday, no vehicular traffic to your camping/unit accommodation will be allowed. If you wish to pack up and leave, arrangements for this must be organised with the duty superintendent. If you are in a caravan and wish to leave (apart from the last Sabbath - see SABBATH ARRANGEMENTS below) arrangements can be made at reception who will notify the duty superintendent and security. A security/safety escort from your site will be provided.

Those vehicles displaying Queensland Transport Disabled permits will be allowed access to the camping areas.  However, if these vehicles are not required for transportation in the camping areas during camp, it would be appreciated if these vehicles can be parked in the designated parking area to assist in the camp operations.

During our camp program, we will have several thousand people on our grounds at any one time.  To make our grounds as safe as possible for pedestrians of all ages, we do aim to strictly limit vehicle access in and around the camping areas to an absolute minimum.  In addition, we are required to comply with fire regulations that instruct us that vehicles must be removed to the designated parking areas.

We appreciate that these arrangements may not be ideally convenient for all, however we would ask again for your co-operation to ensure that your vehicle is removed to the parking areas and for working with us in achieving the objective of a safe and accident-free camp.

We do thank you sincerely for your co-operation in following these car parking arrangements and for appreciating the need for such in our camp program. In doing so, you will be working with us to ensure that our camping areas are as safe as possible for all to enjoy.

SABBATH ARRANGEMENTS – The main entry gate off Old Gympie Road WILL BE closed at 8:30am and reopen at 11:00am, on both Sabbath mornings of Big Camp. There will be police enforcing this for safety reasons. Entry will only be via Hughes Road East to park on the ovals at the rear of the property. PWD permit holding vehicles will be allowed entry through Gate 1 and directed to park as close as possible to the family tent venue.

If you hold a valid parking permit for the property and find yourself outside the venue during this time you WILL NOT be allowed to enter through the main gate. You will enter, via Hughes Road East, and park where the parking attendants direct you. You can bring your car into your designated car park once the front gate opens at 11:00am.

It Is advisable NOT to park on the footpath or road edge, Council parking Inspectors patrol Old Gympie Road during this event, and they will Issue parking Infringements tickets.

ALSO NOTE: On the last Sabbath of Camp there will be no vehicle access into any of the camping areas, Including caravans, for any reason until after the close of Sabbath. Should you require to leave on Sabbath the Superintendent on duty can arrange a buggy to assist with taking your belongings to your vehicle.  There will be no exceptions.
