SUMMARY:Focused On Mission - Connecting People to Opportunities
DESCRIPTION:This workshop will cover the following topics: \n\n-10/40 Window? Tell me more\n– Can I really make an impact?\n– I want to go\, but how?\n– Do missionaries still exist?\n– Where do I start?\n\nFinding and Applying For Opportunities \nPresented by: Rose Miranda – Marketing Specialist- SPD People & Culture. \n \nHi\, Rose Miranda here  😊 \nI’ve spent the past 8 years in the Mission Service Department at the South Pacific Division\, helping our Church discover its global calling. My passion is in Marketing & Service…using marketing to tell powerful stories\, share service opportunities\, and inspire people to step into mission. I’ve traveled the world\, served on mission trips\, and seen God’s goodness in every adventure. Nothing excites me more than seeing young adults catch the vision and go. When I’m not dreaming up campaigns or connecting people to purpose\, you’ll find me sipping bubble tea or relaxing by the beach—my happy places.

SUMMARY:Mission - How to Be a Church Secular post-Christians can join -Part 1
DESCRIPTION:Australia is changing. More and more people now identify as atheist or “no religion\,” and traditional approaches to church often don’t connect the way they once did. But the gospel of Jesus is still good news\, and it still speaks powerfully into people’s lives today. \nIn this workshop\, you’ll discover practical and effective ways to share your faith in a culture that often feels distant from church. Without watering down the truths we hold dear\, you’ll learn strategies that genuinely connect with people where they are. We’ll explore what’s working right now\, and how you can confidently invite your secular friends—not only so they’ll feel comfortable attending\, but so they’ll want to come back and experience more. \nIf you’ve ever wondered how to bridge the gap between faith and the people you care about in today’s Australia\, this workshop is designed for you. \n  \nDr Wayne Krause \n \nWayne\, the Associate Director of Adventist Mission at the South Pacific Division looking after Global Mission and Mission to the Cities. \nWayne is married to Tracey and they have one daughter Jessica. \nWayne is very passionate about seeing people far from God becoming life long\, multiplying disciples. He is known for having his “office” in a coffee shop\, so he can be in the community. \nAreas of interest for Wayne include: \n\nDisciple Making\nInteracting with Secular – Post Christians\nChurch Planting\nCoaching.

SUMMARY:How to Connect with your Community using FaithFM
DESCRIPTION:Did you know that over 10% of Australians are now listening to Faith FM every month\, and that our church’s broadcast impact in Australian communities is increasingly being noticed and appreciated by people of all walks of life including members of government.  Through a three-year SPD funding partnership\, Adventists around South Queensland have been establishing broadcasts to reach new communities\, connecting with listeners through Faith FM community dinners\, and creating personal relationships by delivering free spiritual resources to listeners.  These people are hungry for spiritual nurture as they can continue to grow in their faith.   Drop in and chat with us –let’s explore how we can work together to reach people with Christ’s message of love! \nThe impact of Faith FM is expanding across our country\, and many churches are making it part of their strategy for community engagement – even if they don’t have a Faith FM radio signal in their area!  These workshops will share some of the extraordinary stories of how God has been working through radio in Australia\, and cover how you can partner with Faith FM to connect with your community. \n \nWith Pr Benjamin NG \nFaith FM Engagement and Marketing Coordinator \n \nPastor Benjamin Ng is the Engagement and Marketing Coordinator for Faith FM and the host and presenter of the podcast “The Bible Hour: Ancient Words for a Modern World.” Before joining Faith FM\, he served as a pastor for 15 years in three different countries\, and has taught and lectured on Bible subjects in more than 30 countries around the world. Pastor Ng is happily married to Hui Yee and has 3 children—Emma\, Caleb and Samuel.

Local Churches can also use it to assist them during nomination times to fill roles.  Aside from this\, the individual can contact others within the group\, and it enables people to be connected on a professional level. \nWorkshops:  In order to grow the LinkedIn Group\, we need to upskill many people on creating a resume.  Many church employees have never had to go through a normal recruitment process\, and more broadly than that\, many people do not have an updated resume in a format that HR personnel find useful.  The workshops we will conduct has two parts: \n\nCreating a Resume\nCreating a LinkedIn Profile @ joining the Adventist Professionals Group.\n\nThe South Pacific Division of the church is promoting the growth of the Adventist Professionals LinkedIn Group. \n  \nProfessional networking groups like Adventist Professionals allow you to connect with professionals in your field of expertise\, expand your network and foster valuable relationships amongst like-minded Adventists.  The benefits of joining the group include increasing networking ability\, knowledge sharing\, gaining visibility\, building credibility (as a thought leader)\, finding job opportunities\, and developing professionally. \n  \nFoundational to you joining a LinkedIn Group is the need to create your LinkedIn Profile\, part of which means having an up-to-date resume.  To support this\, you are invited to join a workshop/s to help you develop your resume and/or create a LinkedIn Profile. \nWorkshop Sessions are as follows: \nSession 1 – Mon – Thursday 2:30pm – 3:30pm – Resume Writing\nSession 2 – Mon – Thursday 3:45pm – 4:45pm – Creating a LinkedIn Profile

SUMMARY:I Will Go... But How?
DESCRIPTION:I Will Go… But How? \nThis workshop will cover the following topics: \n\nHow can we take action?\nWho’s ready to bridge the gaps\nSnapshots of a world in pain\nWhere can my efforts make an impact?\nWhat are my unique spiritual gifts?\nHow can I put them to use RIGHT NOW for a greater purpose?\n\n  \nCarol Boehm- SPD Mission Service & Support Manager \nI’m a Mum of two great young men first and foremost\, a Pastors wife and Secondary teacher. Having moved regularly and often during my life\, including 4 years in the Pacific\, I feel blessed that God has been able to use these experiences to help me serve Him and others at the South Pacific Division Office. I love working with missionaries; volunteers or paid\, it doesn’t matter – their passion for people and of course Jesus is always inspiring. I believe with my whole heart that Jesus is coming very soon and I long to be used to speed up that process in whatever way I can.

SUMMARY:How to reduce chronic disease and lose weight
DESCRIPTION:George makes a big claim of “If you reduce the risk factors of chronic disease\, you can reverse the effects of the disease in anywhere from two weeks to two years.” but he clarifies that it is not a cure.  God can cure\, we can only reduce the risk factors\, so if you go back to your old ways\, things will return. \nGeorge has been studying this for 25 years\, and read over 5\,000 articles and 500 books in his search for health.  Because in his 20’s he was super fit and super sick.  He could do 104 push-ups\, but he was sick and in pain all the time.  But when he researched it and discovered the root cause then he changed his life\, for the better. \nChronic diseases include commonly known conditions such as: \n\narthritis\nhigh blood pressure\nsleep apnoea\nobesity\nPCOS\nfatty liver\ndiabetes\nosteoporosis\nheart disease\ncancer\nasthma\n\n \nGeorge Stefan\, \nNutritionist (AIMA Member)  – dealing with health conditions\nPersonal Trainer\nHealth Researcher

SUMMARY:Dare to Connect with Others - Practical tips to Connect with people in your community
DESCRIPTION:Dare 2 Connect: With Others\n \nFor decades\, the church has operated on a “come and see” model of evangelism. People were willing to go to church or check out weekly ministries because the church was broadly seen as trustworthy and needed. Sadly\, today that is not always the case. Thus in order to connect with the unchurched\, our model of evangelism needs to turn outward\, shifting from a “come and see” to a “go and connect” mentality. In order to be effective in connecting with the unchurched – we have to start meeting people right where they are. Because guess what? We can’t meet people where they are not. One of the things we notice about Jesus method of connecting with each individual is that they were each a little different. In this workshop we explore some practical ways to connect and share Jesus. \n \nPastor Nicu Dumbrava\nPastor Nicu Dumbrava is the Personal Ministries Director for the Australian Union Conference. Nicu has been married to Grace for over 29 years and they have two beautiful children. Together they have sought to impact the world for better staring their journey into ministry in 1997 when they moved to Australia. After his graduation from Avondale University in 2001\, Nicu served as the pastor in the South NSW Conference and Personal Ministries Director in the WA Conference. He is convinced that if the church today is connected by the power of the Holy Spirit and is feeding on the Word of God it can have the same impact that the early church had.
